Recently, I've just been watching every anime that grab my interest. So, things like Mekaku city actors, noragami, and lots of other anime stuff. My favorite? Probably Code Geass.
But, if we're talking TV only, then I've been trying to marathon through every season of Supernatural, and failing miserably. I still love it though.
Don't have any ability to stream on your television, or DVDs?
"Plus I wanted to see if Penny and Leonard could make it work. :333333"
But they make a terrible couple! You can see that when the writing has trouble making them have convincingly sappy moments, plus their acting chemistry just seems unnatural. I know the show's all "Zomg Opposites Attract and they learn off each other", but it just seems so forced even beyond the concept itself.
The relationship with Priya might have had less writer-intended chemistry, but that one was still tons better than what they are trying to feed audiences with the Penny/Leonard angle. I am probably biased because I also find her slightly hotter than Penny, but Penny just... feels so forced in the name of fan-wank fantasies.
"I usually have to be eating something at the same time, or if it's on my laptop--googling something."
I get that and am generally the same way, but it extends to most overly engaging/intense stuff as well. I just have trouble sitting still and not multitasking in some way.
Oh Sheldon... I had a feeling they'd keep him the unchanged rock of the series (mostly anyway). He had some moments, but after a while even he felt processed.
I also blame the overabundance of this shirt for some of my dislike:
"Sometimes it's not about chemistry so much as that insured consistency you've been waiting for after frequent stops and resumptions."
Maybe for you. I need certain levels of acting and chemistry between people to help suspend disbelief.
"You know, if they dangle a carrot for so long, I'm only going to get hungrier."
Until the carrot goes bad anyway.
As a committed pirate I rarely sit in front of the box, preferring to consume television in series long binges. Here's a few series I rate:
Twilight Zone
Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9)
Anything written or produced by David E. Kelley (bar Ally Mcbeal)
True Detective
The Sopranos
Louie
Parks and Recreation
Twin Peaks
Game of Thrones
The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt. Bilko)
House of Cards
Veep
The Thick of it
The Armando Iannucci Show
Knowing Me, Knowing You
Blackadder
Father Ted
Family Guy and American Dad
Ummm... I could go on. I hate television with a passion but I have and do watch a lot of television shows.
