I really feel like lawyers job's are pretty simple. They are the players of the government political game. They understand the policies, and they know which paper work to fill out, which forms to file, they know which defense will be most realistic to win a case.. They basically know common sense.
I can understand, hundreds of years ago before we could look up basicly all government policy online, and do our own research. We can figure out which forms to file, and so on.. I really feel like.. though, for the idiots of Humanity who are clearly below average, yes, they are too stupid to be able to defend themselves, but as for the rest of us? I think Humanity MUST undervalue themselves to think so highly of lawyers.
I can see how perhaps a lawyer might have more experience, so better able to consult or things like that, but when it comes down to filing a lawsuit, or putting together a contract, or planning a defense, I think i'd feel far more comfortable taking matters into my own hands, and doing the research myself, and being sure to be thorough.
So what do you guys think? Do you believe in your own ability to defend yourself against your local government's civil and justice system, or would you rather hire some old guy who's going to charge you 10 k for for 100 hours of work when we all know he only did like 4.
That's a tough one... I believe every case may be different, and most certainly there are lawyers who specialize in specific genres of law. Criminal, real estate, divorce and so on.
Me personally, no... I would defend myself in every situation except perhaps criminal law. However, depending on the charges, I may defend myself.
The decision to hire a lawyer would be a risk analysis issue. How much is at stake. Many lawyer services promise that they will not take a fee from you unless they win. So... is that an indication of how easy your case is to win? Or is it an honest sales pitch?
Most people in society are concerned with getting through the day and getting home to their families and television, so do not give people too much credit.
Luna, I feel the same about every profession on earth with the exception of skilled tradesmen.
A lawyer might be considered a skilled tradesman. So let's give them at least that much credit.
Here is a list of skilled tradesmen who are overvalued in society.
English Majors
Visual Artists / 3d Animators / Graphic Designers
Real Estate people (Sell your own fukin house)

Garbage People (If it is so easy, then stop making a fukin mess you slobs!)

They understand how to copy codes, and they know which buttons to press, which files to upload, they know which html will be most realistic to design a Web page.. They basically know common sense.
I can understand, hundreds of years ago before we could look up basicly all 'how to design your own website' online, and do our own research. We can figure out which other websites to copy off and code to swipe and so on.. I really feel like.. though, for the idiots of Humanity who are clearly below average, yes, they are too stupid to be able to copy code themselves, but as for the rest of us? I think Humanity MUST undervalue themselves to think so highly of Web developers.
I can see how perhaps a Web geek might have more experience, so better able to type or things like that, but when it comes down to uploading files, or putting together some html, or planning what smileys to use, I think i'd feel far more comfortable taking matters into my own hands, and doing the research myself, and being sure to be thorough.
So what do you guys think? Do you believe in your own ability to Web design yourself against your local Web development company and html copying system, or would you rather hire some young dumb coke baby (and her brother) who's going to charge you 10 k for for 100 hours of work when we all know she only did like 4.
Luna, when I was 15 years old a police officer pulled me over and asked me to empty my pockets. They were responding to an entirely unrelated alarm nearby.
We were exploring abandoned areas at night. He asked me what the knife was for. I was stupid and said it was for protection.
Possession is not 9/10ths of the law. Intent is.
That is all.
If I had said it was for cutting tree bark or for other utilitarian purposes, I would have been okay.
The truth is, the majority of self righteous blow hards cannot get a grip over their emotions. That is where they lose out to the law, and require a lawyer.
When criminal law is the issue. The police have more power than the judge jury and executioner... if criminal law is your issue, I suggest you look into entrapment. That's probably the only way out of most things...
I think society is branching. Of Course there is the older generation who are glued to their TV's and their hourly jobs, and of course there are those drones who just copy their parents, but I think that a large percentage of the millennial generation is here on the internet getting their information from more open sources. They understand the access they have to the world's information.
It's millennials who use websites like Reddit that I have hope in securing our future. We have a voice online, it's really clear, and it's only going to get more powerful as future, more techie generations join in. It's those same millennials who I think have access to enough information to be able to file a civil suit without the need of a lawyer. Or perhaps write a bill of law, and get it passed with the support of other internet users who support it.
The difference between a web developer and a web designer:
extremity, web development is the same as engineering i'd say. you have to consider what you want to build, design it, plan it, and when you code something, you have to know how to type the syntax perfectly which means when you start.. you will make a million mistakes all the time, and thats why most developers give up in frustration, because of the perfection that is requires in writing the syntax.
if your using a tool someone else has made to make a website such as wordpress or blogger, than that's not really a web developer, that's just a web designer i'd say
we are developers and designer,s and database admins, and server admins, we basically do it all, but certainly out of everything we do, writing the syntax requires the most experience to master
If you recognize how society feels about the major you've chosen, then why not pick another? The point of going to college is to increase your employability so that you might achieve financial freedom as an adult, isn't it? Are you really so interested in studying English? You must really love it to invest your life into a degree in it, specially when most of the society you live in are experts in that language already.
I was a paralegal for 3 years. This is a pretty simple case of "the grass is always greener". You honestly have no idea what each area of common law deals with or the processes required, and the amount of time to reference the jargon alone is just overwhelming. It's incredibly easy to screw up an entire deal/contract/case due to one loophole. A mistake made by a human, because humans are not perfect. And then that's when you're happy you used a lawyer, most specifically one with legal malpractice insurance.
