Ah-ha. I stand corrected.
It's definitely possible to delude yourself into thinking you're a person with 'normal' human emotions. I often found reasons for people to do and behave certain ways based on my emotional understanding, which you assume everyone shares with you. And I'm not sure if this is the case for everyone, but smiling in response to a joke, or frowning in response to an obvious mistake of etiquette, has become instinctive and nearly automatic for me.
All in all, I wouldn't be surprised.
