I have to agree. Even if for some odd reason your kid was a "sociopath", a sociopath isn't an idiot. If he knows that if he tries to kill grandma again, he will not be able to watch TV for the next week, assuming he's a sociopath and not just mentally handicapped, he will likely make the decision that he likes TV more than he hates grandma regardless of how wet her kisses are! shudders
He has nothing else. Everything has been removed. I have to lock every door in the house. I come out of the shower he has broken into my room and took the power cords. He's stolen items such as an antique diamond ring because his father wouldn't buy some type of toy after being in trouble in school all week. He sold it for 15 dollars to a friend to run away and buy the toy. I didn't ask or suggest that he was diagnosed with this. I DON"T KNOW. It's not like they have treated him for everything else until they found something in a recent scan. Police haven't helped because of his history with the mental health issues. Again I came here for suggestions/help. Not to be frowned upon. If I didn't honestly love him I would have given up the first couple of times I was left brusied over petty little issues.

your 12 year old isnt a sociopath. You are a lousy parent unable to reach the kid. You are not listening to his language. You are trying to force yours on him. No Dr. worth their salt will diagnose a kid at 12 with anti social personality, but you didn't say that... I'll answer... No one. No one diagnosis a 12 year old a PSYCHOPATH either, or Narcissitic, or ANY personality disorder. At 12 your personality is just beginning to develop really. Doctors wait to at least the age of 18. Have to have a real history see. An 8 year old is so far underdeveloped it just doesn't hold water. In fact, your story screams of possible sexual abuse to the child at an early age. And I'm serious about all this just encase you thought I was fucking with you. I'm not.

It was his pychologist after ordering a battery of tests and brain scans. He was already diagnosed with ODD and CD. This all has happened this last week. That is what I thought I was doing when I came here. Your delivery was frankly cold. I'm honestly lost I DON"T KNOW. We do think he was sexually abused before my Husband got custody. Both of those terms were thrown around the Anti-Social and the Sociopath during all my appointments with him this week. I'm sorry when someone calls me a shitty parent when I'm doing well with raising 4 out of my 5. I also think a weaker person would have desserted him as in the case with his mother.
