What its like for a male with Borderline Personality Disorder

by The Beaves

this has nothing to do with the therapists. in order to even get to that point of seeing them you had to think there was something wrong with you, right? if you think there is nothing wrong with you then why are you even humoring the notion that there is by seeing these people? this is what i meant by supposed to have a personality disorder. this all started with you.

I've been in and out of mental health programs since I was 7 or 8 years old, and not by choice. As far as currently, it was because I needed to get my life back together, and it was a requirement for housing. Plus, I can get small doses of meds that'll help when I'm really hyper and can't sleep.

"My thinking isn't rigid."

How could that be proven?

It can't I guess. It's my perspective. Then again, others may percieve it as such or they may not.

That sounds sort of like rigid thinking.

Its not really all that rigid, I implied both doubt and uncertainty.

Yeah, but why couldn't you see beyond your own perspective? Are you rigidly stuck in it?

My point was that from what I see is where my thinking comes. My perspective. I certainly can take in new information to change that thinking. Though I don't know how I might prove to someone else that my thinking isn't rigid. Unless we speak of something specific one says I'm rigid on. Like say my views on relationships (a common topic when it comes to PDs). Most assume my positions or views are more rigid than they actually are. Usually because I forget to use qualifiers such as "as far as I know" , etc... tis also why I come acrossed as a know it all.
