Personally it is my opinion that people who are that sensitive to criticism do not actually see themselves to be quite so great as they state publicly, it is merely a form of self protection. Ignoring criticism would imply a strong ego, but negatively reacting to it in such a way as Luna appears to implies that her self esteem is much lower than what she presents.

She probably doesn't know that, though.  Narcissism is a rift between the conscious and subconscious egos.  Subconsciously, she probably hates herself.  But as far as she's consciously aware, she's the greatest thing since cookie dough. : P
