Can you go to jail for encouraging suicide?

So my retarded ass friend is shitting himself because he was online last night trolling a bunch of people on omegle, and reduced a few of them to tears by encouraging them to commit suicide.

I told him he was a retard for not being under at least one proxy while doing so, and now he thinks he's gonna get jail time because a few people said they were gonna screenshot the images and send them to da police.

I personally don't see how you can put someone in jail for telling someone else to kill themselves, because you should be able to ignore stupid shit like that, and I'm pretty sure every human being has told someone to kill themselves at one point in their life.

But is it possible to get jail time if the pussies on the receiving end actually kill themselves?

Yea, you can go to prison for that. Although it's hard to prove any intent, and without intent there probably won't be any jail time.

That is if the person actually kills himself.

Otherwise it could count as harassment which won't get you into jail, but you could if you're unlucky end up having to pay a fine.

yes it is illegal if they kill themselves depending on where you live, people have been jailed for it before

Well if the victim doesn't record or capture a picture of him and turns it in, then kills him or herself, how can he get jail time. it isn't illegal until they can prove it in court. they you're in trouble.

Heh, there's actually a new Swedish TV show called The Troll Hunters, it's about them looking up and then confronting trolls on camera.
