Psychomumbojumbo.

It's helpful for forming decent hunches, but I'd not use it as an end-all for understanding people.

I like it, I just don't always like how others use it.

Word is, if you take too many psychiatric drugs and undergo "treatments" such as electroshock, you become a zombie for "life". Ever heard of that?

People are zombies right after ECT (seen it myself) but they pick back up a few hours afterwards. They really don't have much of a clue as to what's going on though lol - it's funny.

Medications treat the positive symptoms as opposed to the actual problem (not positive as in good, positive as in traits added to the "normal" human model). The problem is that the human body is quite adaptable, it will adjust once it realizes that you're giving it what it needs and that it doesn't need to make any of it's own anymore. Following that, the human body also will typically develop a tolerance, so before you know it you're worse off than when you started, as now the med doesn't do it's job properly and your body has stopped producing it's own means of helping, no matter how little that may have been to begin with.

Of course there's also meds that themselves make zombies, be that a product of how the med is taken or what the med was designed to do. I've known people prescribed speed to take before bed to deprive them of proper rest.

Thankfully many barbaric practices are far less common these days than they used to be.

It'll be nice when we hit a point where the current answers become outdated.

What do you think about lithium and anti-psychotics? Is there any hope of reverting the damage these "medications" cause?

I'm asking you because I believe you can give me reliable information. I believe psychiatrists fucked me up big time, so I've been wondering if there's any hope left for me.
