I lurked over at Psychforums for a second, and someone mentioned that we should be sharing criminal expertise on this site because it isn't moderated. Naturally your expertise isn't your own and just things you've heard of. Let us all speculate about proper ways to commit crimes and how you would like to do them if you were into those sorts of things hypothetically speaking.
So here's one, breaking and entering. What's the weak points on almost every building? There are fortified doors and windows, and getting through those can be hard, and you don't want to crawl through the ventilation because you don't know where it leads and if you even can. What's left is the walls, just bring a chainsaw, or sometimes a screwdriver and a sledgehammer will be enough, or better yet steal a car and drive through the wall. Run in and take as much as possible and then you leave without spending too much time in there. Because if it's a store the motion sensors will get you, the alarm will go off, and that goes to an alarm central, and then to the cops. Assuming that the cops don't catch you in the act you will have at least 5 minutes before you have to leave. Because it takes some time for the alarm to go to the alarm central, and for that alarm central to send it to the cop's alarm central and for that alarm central to call it out to a squad car.
Breaking in to a person's alarmed house is usually a lot easier and safer, you don't even set off most alarms with this tactic because most house's don't have motion sensors, but only glass shatter sensors, magnet sensors, and micro sensors. These are alarms that protect the house's shell, there's no alarm inside the house. So if you don't touch any doors, locks or windows you'll be able to take as much time as you want once inside.
