to be happy all u need is to be reasonably healthy

everything else is in ur own head really- if u can be happy no matter how good or bad things get

some people will always feel like crap no matter what they achieve in their life time and some people will always feel good as long as the obstacles and adversity in their lives remains in reasonable level

I wonder about anyone who cares to reply, how does the prospect of the future effect your life?

Do you plan a lot, or do you just go along and plan just enough, as minimal as possible?

Whatever you answer, why and do you want that to change?

Some planning is neccessary, to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible , and remove  unforeseen issues that might arise. However, the ability to think on the go, and to take things as they come , spontaneity, is also important, because there are always things that arise in life that will test.

One can plan til the cows come home , and make no progress, apart from "planning", if they are not prepared to implement it, and actually push to get ahead.

I plan more these days, than I use to , because I want to further myself, and better whatever I choose to turn my hand to.

Its can be easy for me to just shut off the world , and plod along , and keep doing the same ol, same ol, but its neither productive or healthy, so I am pushing ahead and changing that. Planning is a part of that change.

It helps me keep a realistic, productive direction, and perhaps identify ones that are no longer of benefit.

And that applies right across the board.

I want it to change, and keep changing so I dont become stagnant. I want it change so I continue to learn, and evolve and am able to appreciate new and different things, points of view and in turn be able to share those .

And of course, some persistence, tolerance and foresight go a long way too!.

Prospect of future? Not at all, i never had any notion of future (other than the biologically unavoidable decrepitude / death). Prefer savouring the present and dwell on the good bits of the past.

Plans & goals have the potential of many fallacies, i figured the best strategy is figuring out what i don't want  and avoiding it as best as i can. Proved to be a solid good strategy thus far.

A good life would be having spent the vast majority of it enjoying myself, and to be able to look back at the end and feel satisfied enough with how I'd spent my time and who I'd become, to be reltaively at peace with my time being over.

I think the basis of happiness is a general mindset that either you have or you don't.  And I'm doubtful it could be created through force of will.  (That's not to say it can't change naturally, over time.)  Some people are happy with almost nothing to be happy about, and some people are unhappy with the world at their feet.  Beyond that, all you can do is examine what keeps you content and exand upon your happiness as much as possible.

I plan incessantly.  In no small part because it's a compulsion, but also because I enjoy taking time out of my day on ocassion to dream about all the fantastic things the future could hold.  (I'm a hopeless optimist.)  However, the plan fequently gets ditched mid-execution, when shinier prospects and new opportunities crop up.

I think the one main thing that would make my life great is money. Lots of money = No stress (at least not financially).
