Let's say we pass a law that says we no longer can bury the waste in landfills, we can pretend that works for a while , but sooner or later the garbage will start overflowing, so unless we want to get buried by it, we have to get rid of some of it.
"Get rid of some of it" sounds a lot like "throw it away..." which is pretty much what landfill is anyway.
In fact, the landfill metaphor is pretty shit for this context really. Solutions include burning and recycling. I totally understand the burning option, but how do you recycle a moron?
