crixus is an excellent example of how... if someone pretends to see something in you, you can be motivated to see that same thing in yourself, and with that confidence, actually achieve it.

this is why i feel we should do our best to see the best in everyone. becasue when you see the best in people, they see the best in themselves, and it's confidence that we need to motivate us to pursue and achieve our dreams

Seeing ''the best'' in all employees works in a world where dreams and aspirations are all you need to succeed, but negativity is important too for balance. Without critique, there will never be ways they can improve brought up, and they will continue to be mediocre or even terrible at their work unless the employee is self motivated and worried enough on their own. Without the risk of losing the job being known, because only the good qualities are being focused on, people can get away with being untalented and unmotivated employees, and something the typical person is amazing at? Lethargic homeostasis, figuring out what takes the least effort while not losing what they have. Many people need a fire under their asses to give their 110%.

It takes balance. Too much of positive or negative in the work place will introduce or empower flaws into the system. Impartiality is important when you're in charge, especially with how competitive the working world is these days. Having shoddy workers makes for a shoddy business.

Being a good natured boss type is good for morale, but morale isn't all there is to business. People more often than not aim to take advantage of a situation if they know they can get away with it. I see it all the time, typically as a consumer.
