How? Fast.

Who are "they"? What do they want with me? 

I can disappear quickly if I want to. But precious few "they"s are worth the bother of packing up my things and disappearing. This could turn into a neat little thought experiment, but more backstory would be helpful. :)

Let's say they are a government agency with all possible powers at their disposal, i.e. wire tapping, phone tracking, the ability to put hundreds of boots on the ground to physically chase you if needs be, they have helicopters, cars, roadblocks, they can track your credit card, passport, freeze your bank accounts and put your face all over the news.

You have to disappear and you have one hour. You can have a bug out bag, a vehicle and say $1000. Your escape must be within reason - no fantasy or impossibilities. You're passport is also void. However, the vehicle is useable for 24hrs.

You're escape must result in your indefinite freedom. The quality of that freedom, however, is up to you. You could live in a hole or flee the country - but how?

They always head for Mexico in the movies, so I'll stick with the tried & true, I guess. The first $200 would be spent on an extreme makeover just in case my pics get out. Dye job, theatrical makeup, wigs & trench coats bought on the road at a thrift store.

I'd ditch the car around Champlain and hop the fence into NY state (Yes I've done that already. I know for a fact that it's possible to sneak across the border there ;)) The rest of the trip will be on buses/ by thumb, with the other $800 to float me through the truck stops and cheap American motels. Not sure about crossing into Mexico. That may require research.

I live in canada i'd just have to go hide in the forest up north until things settle and i get a new identity with the bag of money i'd have stashed. hopefully during summer, but winter is still manageable

You have one hour to disappear before they come for you.  How would you make your escape?

If someone was after me to kill me and I had a very slim chance of survival, I would very quickly pack a bag of only the essential things I need and get my daughter to do the same. Though, if I suspected there really was a chance of something like that ever happening, I would already have bags packed and ready to go, along with weapons and cash. But assuming I didn't pre-plan for such an event, I would go to the nearest ATM machine and take out as much cash from my bank account as I can and steal a car (because I don't currently own one). Then I would drive as far as we could go to get away.

Realistically though, I don't think I'd flee. I would confront them, even if it meant there was a very good chance I could die.

Hey thats cool are they going to arrest me and stuff? oooh... I like that, handcuffs... I would sit still and relax until they come for me. I hope they smack my head on the hood of the car, violently and malevolently. And then there's always the questioning where I get my chance to beg. Hopefully im innocent and they are like 98% sure of my guilt so they treat me real nasty in there. Put me in prison so Bob can take care of me and protect me from Kato and Bruce

You could pull a Walter White and live in a cold cabin somewhere, but winter would suck. I'd likely take too long over-thinking my escape and get busted at the end of the block.    

Up until around two years ago, I spent many nights venturing this. My only hope is that "they" are less prepared than I figured "they" would be, as otherwise there would be almost nothing I could do to stop "they".
