Hello everybody,

I'm a girl of 19 years old. I was born in the Netherlands and raised in a family of professional classical musicians and therefore it's obvious that I developed a passion for it too .
Russian composers always fascinated me in particular. But I'm also fond of the iconic figures in history of classicism, as Mozart, Beethoven etc... In fact, I like many styles and genres and I am happy to discover new things.

My hobbies are painting, playing the piano, writing, reading and studying languages.
I play the piano myself and I love listening to (classical) music.
Since every great musician nowadays has a superb technique, I like to pay attention to the musical interpretation of the performances. I don't like musicians who draw attention to themselves without respecting the composer...

Like: Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto, Schumann Fantasiestücke for clarinet, Beethoven piano sonatas, Débussy L'isle joyeuse, Ravel Jeux d'eau, Tchaikovsky 4th & 6th symphony, Villa-Lobos 1st piano concerto 1st mvt, Débussy cello sonata, Schubert die Winterreise, Chopin piano études, Franck symphony in D minor, Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade, Bartok 2nd violin concerto etc.

Don't like: There are a lot of Mahler-fans here. Unfortunately, I'm not very into Mahler. Same with operas... It's not my principal object of interest. And I value Bach's ingeneniousness but I cannot call myself a 'fan'.
Liszt is too cheesy.

Nevertheless I hope to have a great time here... Hope I didn't bore you too much with this long introduction.
I am not a native English speaker but I see this as a good opportunity to improve my skills.

Hi, and welcome to the community.

As a cat i obviously prefer Bach to anything else, although i enjoy a lot of Mozart as well - mainly for the extra notes.

May i suggest you check out Lionel Rogg, Dinu Lipatti, and Mischa Maisky, if you want to hear Bach at his best.

Regards

MacB

Simplicity is the highest goal, achievable when you have overcome all difficulties.

Alternatively, it's just another place to leave more quotes by Chopin.

I feel incomplete. Something essential is missing. I look around, toward people, someone to make the pain go away, but it simply doesn't work. What is this yearning of my heart? What is it longing for? Whom is it calling? Why do I feel incomplete and unsatisfied? What is the root of this elusive, yet persistent, distress?

Aaaaah haaaa.

Sounds like teenage angst. It happens to everyone, even if they can't remember.
