No, frankly, she's not a celebrity over here. She only makes it into the gossip press when she puts her feet in her mouth on her shopping trips to Europe. Nobody wouldn't even notice those incidents (as she's not a recognised face), it's usually herself who blows the issue up in the US media so it gets back to the eu press.

It's usually the media that blows the issue up, not the celebrity. Though, I'm not saying that's true in every case.
I rarely ever read celebrity gossip, and I haven't seen many Oprah Winfrey shows but even I would recognize her if she came here to Australia. So, I find it a little hard to believe it when you say she's not a recognized face.
