Genetics is a big part of it. That I know. How does a child know what trauma is when they don't any different?
And, I was a hell raiser as a kid.
Depend on the disorder by the looks of things. No clear cut answers it seems and some similarities.

Like the sex with the little girl in the sexy outfit. Who the heck would even dress their daughter up like that and then post a picture? She's a kid. 11-12 yrs old. WTF?
I wasn't born this way, but I agree, there was most likely a predisposition toward a pd. I was a fairly normal kid until the abuse started, the worse it got, the worse I got. Until I finally reached a point where I didn't care anymore. People, especially, became meaningless to me. I'm not a sociopath, or a raging killer. In fact, I take no pleasure in the suffering of others, but I don't care either, unless it's someone close to me.

You're assuming a parent dressed her up and took the picture and she's not a victim being made to do that.
I agree there are not clear cut answers. In my case I do believe it's a combination of both. Both parents are fucked as are their parents, or at least from what I have been told my biological mother's parents and sister are and I assume my father's parents as well. Therefore I was certainly predisposed by genetics. Coupled with my childhood, there's my answer.
It would be interesting to read about someone with no mental illness in their family and yes has a confirmed Dx.
In my experience I believe it was a combination of both. Before the abuse from my father and the negligence of my mother to respond to needs as I child, I assume there was a time when I was a relatively normal neurotypical so to speak. However my father, whom I believed to be a narcissist, most likely played a role in passing on the apathetic gene down the line. My thinking tends to dictate that nature over nurture is the cause for the disorder, yet there is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise; e.g. Not all the child soldiers in Africa are 'paths despite their horrific upbringings. So really it goes both ways in the development of p/s'paths.

Brutal. And last sentence , same. I wasn't abused, not like many kids. Knowing what it can do to people, that is what makes it a problem.

Agree completely but it's not limited to just AsPD, Psychopath, Sociopath etc..
