Like I said I'm not a lawyer but if they wanted to question somebody about something they'd need a way to tie a user account to a real person. So they would need a warrant to be able to ask the owner of the forum for the IP addresses associated with a specific account. Then with the help of the ISP (also covered by a warrant) they can match those IP addresses to a person.

Or they had a snitch here but that snitch would need to know the person he ratted out to the cops well enough to have their real name and address plus details about their supposed illegal activities.

There is no way this isn't a joke.

Personally, I don't believe that anyone is actually monitoring this site. I think this is all just a ruse to make people paranoid.

I'm not even sure if the person ('Headsup' who posted the previous warning thread) who told me they had been reported to and questioned by the police was for real. I still have my doubts about that.

Irl, a police officer did stop to talk to me after a period of seeing police everywhere around me. He seemed to want to get information from me, but it was probably because I looked paranoid, and had nothing to do with this forum.

Honestly, I don't think they're monitoring this site either. Especially since any claims anyone makes is kinda obviously of the category of "I'm the bigger badass with the bigger dick than you" lies. The NSA is surely collecting our data here though. You'd be delusional to think otherwise, as they've admitted it.

But would it be admissible as evidence against someone?

Oh believe me... the shit you post on line is admissible in court... just do a google search for "facebook and prison"

I suppose that the location of the servers hosting this forum determines which jurisdiction applies over this forum.

Location of the server is irrelevant unless someone wants to get content taken down i.e. copyright infringement. The jurisdiction in this case would be dependent on the location of the person accessing the forum and their home laws. But don't forget that depending on the severity and country relations... extradition is possible.

I'm generally quite paranoid about internet security, but even I am not worried about this. I highly doubt that there is someone whose actual job it is to sit at a computer all day long and wade through the crap posted on this forum and others like it. If there is, then I pity them. It's more likely to be done by some sort of computer programme that looks for key words or phrases being mentioned. And if it is reviewed by a human being, anyone with an ounce of common sense could usually tell the difference between weirdos and losers acting out their fantasy lives, and those who pose an actual danger.

At the end of the day, nothing on the internet is private. I use TOR and a VPN, hushmail email accounts and I'm not on facebook or anything, yet even so I wouldn't assume I'm untraceable. And I'd be willing to stand by every word I've said online, because I wouldn't be so naive as to talk about actual criminal stuff here. Not that I've ever done anything remotely criminal, of course...

Terrifying though tk's attempts at erotic fiction writing are, I'd be willing to bet the good folks of the CIA have bigger badasses to worry about. I think we're fairly safe here.

I have an anti-hack cock jammer that gets swung at my face every morning.  I just suck for three minutes, swallow, and I am good to go for at least 6-8 hours.  I suggest you all get one.

You know, given how many paranoid morons work in office and have spent lots of money spying on less than a message board. I could believe it and you don't have to sit in front of a computer terminal you just set up the board to copy to your independtant server that parses txt and flag the operator when a questionable word comes up.

Its happening, here, there everywhere.

Legality? No one gives a shit about legality these days.

In the end though what does it matter. Being watched in a sea of recorded data and being worried about it
