Micro-expressions Test:  http://www.microexpressionstest.com/micro-expressions-test/

I didn't get anything right on this test. I couldn't read the micro-expressions for the life of me.

Emotional Intelligence quiz:  http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/ei_quiz/#1

I scored 16/20 on this test.

The ones I had trouble reading were fear, contempt, compassion and love.

I couldn't get the first one to work, but probably due to the fact I am using an iPad.  I will try later.  The second test I got 15/20.  I had some trouble noticing certain ones, but no real pattern to it I think.  I personally think I had trouble because the actors didn't do a good job showing an emotion.  If I knew those people, I am sure to do a lot better.  I can sense the contrived nature of the fake expression of emotion.  I didn't really believe they had any particular emotion, so it was hard to imagine what lie they were trying to show.

The first one wouldn't load for me, and the second one also annoyed me. So many of these emotions are related. I chose interest, and the answer was happiness. But if something interests someone, it will make them happy, and if something makes someone happy, it will make them interested.

I got 15/20. The only one I think I really missed was choosing sadness when the answer was compassion. Maybe they were compassionate about someone else's sadness?

Why don't you start a new thread on that and tell me all about it. I want to know exactly how you want to make me love and fear you. It won't happen of course, but it will be interesting to read about.

Maybe you could start a story thread and encourage forum participation in some way.

I suspect you're not as 'new' here as you claim to be...

I'm starting to think about what exactly I would need to do to make someone make a face like that, and how to absolve myself of responsibility if he ends up dying of cardiac arrest.

That turtleneck, though.

Yeah on the first test sometimes the videos don't load, so you just have to start all over again. Which is comical considering they're trying to plug their program with that test, and the test hardly works. I wouldn't doubt if they made it purposefully near impossible so that you'd say to yourself, "wow, I need should take this micro-expressions course."

The first test worked fine for me. I didn't have any problems with the test itself. I just couldn't read the micro-expressions.

As for the second test, not only is it ambiguous, but you can tell not much work went into. As BT said, the expressions are contrived, painfully so. Like what is this...?

When is the last time you've ever seen someone make a face like that? Probably never, unless you were in an insane asylum.

That is supposed to be fear apparently. I thought it was surprise.
