After analyzing the conversations, researchers noted a few
idiosyncrasies in psychopathic speech. For example, because the psychos
were so detached from their crimes, they described their actions in the
past tense much more frequently than their non-psychopathic counterparts
did. Hoping to appear normal, they used words like “uh” and “um” more
frequently than average thugs. Most of their sentences were phrased as
cause-and-effect statements and included many subordinating conjunctions
like “because” and “so that.” Perhaps most tellingly, while most
prisoners spoke about their families and religious beliefs, the psychos
were more concerned with basic needs like food, drink, and cash.

a lot of the findings about psychopaths are bullshit, no sense of smell? yea right. they did this test in winter or around allergy season. maybe if they blew their nose they would be able to smell.

10) Psychopaths Can't recognize Fear:

Interesting. I have thought a lot about this one. I do stuff on my harley and in life that make people think i'm crazy. I don't fear the things I do but i do understand the consequences of my actions if I were to fail. I think people fear what they can't control or understand.

I had a gun pulled on me once by 2 guys in New Orleans. I wasn't scared at the time but I knew what the consequences would be if I were to try and regain control of the situation. So I gave them what they wanted. Which was my car.

i had a breaking an entering happen to my place, as i pulled in the driveway, i had a switch bade in my pocket but i figured that would be a bad idea to show it first chance i had so i lost my tv but got my computers back. they dropped it once they seen me, they were just 2 white kids from the city.

Perhaps the phrasing of the pointed fact was a little off.

Is it that psychopaths do not recognize fear in themselves, or that they do not recognize it in others?

The artical was about them not recognizing it in others. I'm curious tho if a psychopath is fearless in general.

Fear is very contextual.

Not showing it, doesn't mean that you don't feel it in your own particular way.

Perhaps the more appropriate context is as to how fear is redelegated, through the automated logical response.

I must admit, that recognizing fear in others gives me more satisfaction than recognizing anger in their behavior (a sense of personal control over my response?).

The exact opposite is true for myself.

Mind you, I have been diagnosed with sub-clinical psychopathy and high functioning asperger's.

I also recognize the cerebral narcissists in myself.

The best I can garner from my own experience is that I have never panicked and always had a sense of control over the situation, no matter how fucked it might appear.
