I wanted so much to love Dexter.
Season 1 was awesome.
But when they tried to 'humanize' him they fucked up the show pretty bad. As if people couldn't cope with the main character being bad.
Newsflash: they can.
Hannibal, Games Of Thrones & Breaking Bad all feature pretty 'disturbed' (and highly entertaining) main characters and that is why we love'em.

RE: Dexter - I completely agree. The first season was strictly based off the books, everything else was a creation of those in charge of the show. The final season was pretty interesting when they introduced Dr. Whatsherface, but it fell apart at the end.

Never seen it. But if we're talking animated shows I really enjoyed 'Invader Zim'. Every single character on that show is incredibly fucked up.
Gotta love Zim he is so hell-bent on destroying the human race and so incompetent in his evil schemes.

There are so many interesting characters but I really want to see what happens with Arya Stark. I love her.

I have read the books, so it would be hard to say what I'm interested in watching without potential spoilers, but I will say that Arya gets a good story.
I love it in the name of art. Examining every corner of a scene for his signature style of dirt and grime, and how much the author seems to hate children... it's fun to analyze. The voice acting is wonderfully spastic too.
I've read Squee and JTHM as well. The fandom usually makes that too detrimental to admit to.
