Hello to your world.

I did a little reading on here just over two years ago when I was climatizing to the idea of having Anti-social personality disorder. I find this to be fascinating at times. Over the course of my first, and to date, only experience with the criminal justice syste, I was mandated to complete cognitive counseling prior to and throughout my parole. Of course I was naturally selective in the manner of my disclosure and participation as the goal was my liberation. However, none of the professionals offered the diagnosis of an APD (ASPD/ASP) as per the DSM-IV directly. Such news may be alarming to an average person, but quite standard fare for those with a lack of care.

To get to the point, I today responded to a forum in a somewhat faith based group regarding the quality of and determinarion of psychopaths as actual people. A waste of time as their ignorance and rationale was based on emotion and comfort, rather than philosophical and intellectual analysis. A weak biological argument was offered but quickly disarmed as it was based on prejudice and application to people of any genetic or physiological difference, ie race, sexual orientation, physical and mental disability, etc.

My purpose in this endeavor was to engage discussion regarding the purpose of positive action (in a societal sense) for those with APD - sociopath, psychopath, Asperger, autistic, etc. I tend to bord between sociopathic and psychopathic, the label being irrelevant but for referential purposes. The purpose is for my own achievement and strategy of growth...

... Though I am not opposed to the benefit this topic may have to others of similar disposition. I understand many people on here are misunderstood and sport a plethora of psychological issues that extend far beyond that of psychopathy and the like. I don't care if you feel the urge to blog silly harassments and insults. However, this is an opportunity for those in the community to consider a new side.

I, since my release, work and attend university in applied and theoretical sciences. I have shared my APD nature with my girlfriend and close acquaintances - against my instincts. This, interestingly enough, has filtered those closed-minded to the idea, and eliminated my need to deceive my social construct for survival. Further I am accountable for success and free to behave as I will, as those expect this of me. The goal is to achieve a permanent capacity to enjoy the fruits of life. I love excitement, power, popularity, having talents and skills, and wealth; I desire to have as much of these as possible with the least amount of investment necessary, obviously.

that being said, I am prepared to continue as I always have - but believe the challenge of normalcy to be more interesting. Deceiving the weak minded and manipulating a flawed system bores me and provides no excitement any more. Violence is unsustainable and

offers little to my interest. The issue now is maintaining motivation. Those with true APD characteristics, specifically to sociopath/psychopaths, understand that long term goals are nearly impossible and immediate gratification is key. I am searching for opinions, experiences, and thoughts toward this purpose and maintaining my direction. I expect this to be a shallow pool but I think people from all spectrums of the scales of psychology have insight to offer, be they empathic not otherwise. I expect I will be adding more to your site from my perspectives and experiences for the time being. I appreciate your interest.

How well someone can put themselves in someone else's shoes depends on how good at introspection they are. Not everyone has that capacity.

My shrink has said that many doctors don't diagnose sociopathy anymore do to that it cannot be cured, so they usually stick people with other personality disorders. I'm not sure if this just applies to a certain set of shrinks or generalized types in specific locations. He is a psychologist who is also contracted to work with courts.

There seems to be neurological wiring mess ups with both the Autism Spectrum and ASPD diagnoses' regarding emotions and emotional wiring.

I would love to know if they've isolated the genetics. Also if so, what other genetics did they come from? They say psychopaths are born genetic and sociopaths are made, however it would make more sense that both are made environmentally and or genetically.

I agree that mapping the genetics would assist in research, though I would be concerned that the purpose would be used to identify ASP disorders for the purpose of prevention. I enjoy my disposition and agree with the evolutionary theoris that suggest all are of the empathic and social spectrum have purpose. My "pseudo-intellectual" rant, to quote another comment, regards readings and is cushion from another source which describe psychopaths specifically as not being people. I disagree with this because what actually identifies people of this persuasion is in their neurophysiology. i'll bring this down a mental notch for my previous critic, who either didn't understand the initial, and yes long-winded post, or didn't have the patience to read it. And while my Aspergers is nicely capitalized, I do apologize for any spelling as I hammer this out rather blindly on an Ipad, not a computer.

Doctors of course hesitate to offer clear diagnoses, and for good reason. Without FMRIs and a battery of physical tests, one cannot be absolutsure retain of the disorder and it's extent.a prcise label is arbitrary - especially so to a true psychopath or sociopath. What others call them/us gives no pleasure or pain, but rather having the ability to satisfy ones needs is what matters. This is why I suspect only very few contributers to this site have an extreme anti-social personality disorder. Most people here seem to have anti-social personalities, deprssion, social anxiety, and various forms of mental and personal deficits, which could likely be assisted with cognitive therapy and or pharmacology.

I in no way suggest this to anyone in particular as APD is a broad spectrum and I am not a doctor, just a pseudo-pseudo-intellectual...

Quick Version:

I think that APDs are real people, like like empaths, and other varying forms of human beings. The point is that I am practicing and exploring the idea of motivating the extreme APDs to co-operate, in their own way, constructively with society rather than preying upon its members. Can positive substitutes be found? Can they be sustained?

I have lived the traditional sociopathic way, and while sometimes satisfying, it feels a more like going through a buffet with only a few tasty treats along the way. Instead of fighting in line, we need to build our own bakeries and have what we want, when we want it.

For my critics, I am not obese, nor enjoy many actual desserts. Physical prowess, along with mental, is important for a good predator. Have a nice thrill.

I wrote a nice and long answer but the site lost it so here's a dirty one:

Society has power if you like it or not.

You are not God. Your actions have consequences for you.

Act accordingly.
