Yeah, that is what I figured...
Rereading the OP if you haven't already you should watch everything by John Woo before he came to Hollywood.
Sorry but those are foreign movies too.
I'm trying to think about violent English language movies and I know I've seen plenty of those but I can't remember any title for now.
Well there's Braindead but that's more of a comedy than a pure horror movie.
Oh and about any italian horror movie from the '70s/early '80s like Cannibal Holocaust and stuff.
I think I can help you hear: Saw series for outragous amounts of gore. Anything with Jet Li in it(War, Unleashed) or Jason Stathom. This movie called Mind Hunters is something I think everyone will like. If you dont mind subtitles and asian movies then ones like Ong Bak or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon are both personal favs of mine. Thats all I can think of for now.
There are no battle sequences or sword fighting in these films, but I'm mentioning them anyway, because I like them and there is plenty of sexualized violence.
If you can't see this video for some reason, type in Snuff 102 - LE film gore interdit on youtube:
And there is the August Underground series, but you'll have to download that through a Peer to Peer network:
I also enjoyed The Poughkeepsie Tapes
Poughkeepsie tapes is a fav of mine too.
So I rewatched Snuff 102 while I was at it and there's a scene in which gore pics flash on the screen with somebody squealing like a pig in the background and sure enough I noticed details that I hadn't noticed upon first viewing. Like one of the pics is one of Jeff Dahmer's victims.
Oh and another fav here is Ichi the Killer. Japanese movies can be really fucked up in the horror genre.
