Violent Film Recommendations...

So I have some time off from work. I like hard-core violence, especially if there is anything beautiful about it; good choreography, intense/epic battle sequences, interesting/unusual plot themes, sexualized violence, well-executed sword fighting, etc.

What are some of your favorites?

Thanks :)

All the requirements you have posted are basically being fulfilled by the Game of Thrones series. TV has come a long way and for its own good.

Or even The Walking Dead for that matter.

If you can stand subtitles I'd recommend two French movies: Irreversible & Dog Eat Dog.

The second one is about a serial killer followed by a TV crew explaining his 'methodology' with 'real life' examples.

I watched the first season. It was pretty good, but there was a lot of talk, and not as much action as I'd like...

Try out Faces of Death. I would post the link, but I don't feel like signing into YouTube

Try out Faces of Death.

In that case might as well watch the real thing and try BestGore.com or similar.

Isn't that supposed to be snuff? I watched those in grade school.... Can't remember all the details. I'm not into pure gore; that turns me off. Just intense, visceral fighting.

It showcases grizzly deaths in real time. Such as a zoo keeper getting his arm ripped off by a tiger, a woman flattened by a bus, a soldier getting his head cut off by a helicopter blade, air traffic controller getting sucked into a turbine, etc. I was shown this around 7 or 8

Don't get me wrong I like the Faces of Death series but it's mostly SFX.

Let me quote Wikipedia:

In 2008, the film was re-released on DVD accompanied by an extensive interview with the film's editor Glenn Turner (credited as "James Roy"). Turner explains how they used numerous film techniques and tricks to make the fake footage appear real.

That said I guess the OP asked for movies and technically Faces of Death is a movie.
