Your own Code of Morals

Posts: 3882

I've had certain morals embedded in me since I was a child, not by my parents, but by my own choosing.

I've been described as chivalrous and follow a strict code similar to bushido. Here are some of my main values: Self efficency, Honesty and Persistence.

How about you? What are some of your values, or some of the things you consider off limits possibly taboo.

I don't think I have morals per se but I wouldn't rape or even have sex with an underage kid.

As a matter of fact I wouldn't do anything carrying a heavy prison sentence unless I was pretty sure I could get away scot-free or had a solid plan to flee the country because I'd hate being locked up for a long time.

Strangely enough I like pets so I wouldn't hurt one but I don't mind killing animals I don't like.

Now as part of the so-called 'mask' I come off as being likeable, serviceable and even tempered (even though I have a really bad temper but they don't see that) but it's not a moral choice but a tactical one.

If ( My negative saddness x 2 ) < ( Target's positive happiness ) { MAKE THEM HAPPY }
else { SORRY I CANT HELP YOU }

2 Human lives are worth more than one... unless it's someone I know personally.

1 person I know personally = 100 people I don't know

1 family member / close friend  = 1000 people

Doing things that are illegal are NOT bad simply because they are illegal.

An instant death is always more Humane unless a lesson is being taught. (for example evil people should suffer)

That's all I can come up with for now  I'd love to hear the rest of yall's! I think this topic is great in terms of research value, so please be honest everyone

 Because the people she knows are more likely to benefit her in some way than those she doesn't. Duh.

I see value in random people, most of the people I do know are disgusting and full of bullshit.

I guess I give reasonable doubt when it comes to strangers. I haven't seen what choices they've made, so I can't judge.

I mostly live by my code of conduct. I dont agree with the idea of morals. I wont do anything unless I can logically rationalize that it will benefit me in a way. I'm very chivalrous and dont value one life over another unless the one has more potential than another and that applies to everyone. I would never cheat and find it disgusting. Only reason I follow laws is to stay out of trouble. I find suicide to be the dumbest thing possible and look down on anyone who does it regardless of their reasoning... idk thats all I can think of atm

I agree.  I see no reason in cheating or telling lies because thats beneath me. I will make exceptions to that occasionally when it includes an object of intrest. I can't stand suicidal people unless there is a viable reasons for it, which are few and far between.  Such as my grandfather's best friend who lost his son and wife in a fatal car accident just a year after he retired.
