I agree completely,  Chernobyl is a place I plan on visiting in a couple years.

And for that, I am thankful.

Try Centralia, Pennsylvania. It's hazardous but so is Chernobyl.

I'm too paranoid for recently abandoned towns.

I've never been exploring abandoned towns, since as far as I'm aware there aren't any in England?

 You've clearly never had the pleasure of a night out in Prestatyn.

I would love to visit an abandoned town or building, but never really had the opportunity. There are lots of abandoned industrial areas in the town I used to live, but most of them are full of crackheads or teenagers so I wouldn't ever go there. But somewhere like Chernobyl...I can imagine it's the same kind of feeling as walking down a dark alley at night.

Perhaps once upon a time it was... but a couple of years ago, on a dark and gloomy winter's night, it managed to achieve the feel of both an abandoned town and a zombie horror film. It's probably the worst place I've been in the UK, except Scotland.

I may have to go. To the town, not scotland.
