Except this is metaphor land where you can get away with things, so that is equivalent to doing something drastic and perhaps clever to prevent people from doing things to you. It's a drastic extreme to show that options are available. in this case you are getting banned, so the logical extreme thing to do would be to hack the site and get revenge, the bomb in this case being the idea that if you can't use the site, no one can. Lack the skills to do that? make friends with someone who can. Lack the skills to do that? pay someone who can. Lack the funds to do that? Fucking suck it up and do something else with your time.
Thrill and Vicarious would handle such a situation better than me. If that were to have happened to me, I'd have been to the point where I'd be stealing cars, if not placing trackers to hunt down the car thieves (would've done that after the first one got stolen, if I was naive enough not to in the first place). Then when I found them, vigilante gets what he can out of his prey. It wouldn't stop there, I'd be back after a while.
by SyntheticVictim mentality is focusing on what other people have done wrong to you instead of focusing on what you can do right for yourself.
Well put. Not focusing on what you can do right for yourself is the worst part, as the person can't see themselves capable of escaping the cycle of abuse. It's like they rob themselves of their own freedom as human beings, and chose the lazy version of just enduring the abuse, and finding excuses for themselves and sometimes even for the abusers... After a certain age, a person is responsible for what happens to them in life.
