AsPD is no more special than any other disorder. It's a defense mechanism for the most part. Using defense mechanisms is a weakness, not a strength. It wouldn't be called a disorder if it didn't have a negative impact on oneself and others.
The same could be said for sociopaths and psychopaths. Some people claim that AsPD (which all sociopaths and psychopaths have) is the next step in evolution, which is a bunch of bullshit. If only sociopaths and psychopaths existed, we'd have never gotten past the caveman stage.
