How do you/do you ever experience ;
Love towards a family member.
Love towards your children (if you have any)
Love towards your friends (if you have any)
Love towards significant others/romantic partners
Also, how would you define love?

Why do you ask?
I have no family. To be honest, I used to have some, but they all died. I was left with the ones that were sick in the head. I don't feel anything towards them. I used to hate them, used to be angry, now I'm indifferent.
Friends? Well, I help them when they need it if I deem them deserving. They say I'm distant all the time, but I think I'm around them lots.
I'm single. I like it that way. I do miss being able to have unprotected sex without as much of a risk of disease, but masturbation is just as good at preventing that.
As for defining love, I don't even think most people are really clear on what love is. We're told from day one we don't know what it is. But is it really any different than infatuation emotionally?
I ask because it's a phenomenon that fascinates me. There are a lot of claims about the "power of love" that I'm not sure I fully understand, or have experienced myself, but it sounds like a nice thing.
I realize that there is a great deal of uncertainty and personalization when it comes to defining love, but if you don't mind I'd appreciate it if you would try to share your personal take.
Love is the reason for life. Literally and Figuratively.
We pair bond with another, reproduce, care for our family and die. All animals and humans have the instinct.
Even someone such as T.K. or a sociopath, etc. takes care of her daughter because she is part of her.
Very few people, leave everyone behind and live alone in the mountains. And even if they do, it is by choice.

This seemed to be your definition, but sounds more like a question or uncertainty than a definition, which is why I asked.

Funny you mention this - this is exactly what I did/am doing.
by Frosty BlueApparently love releases a different longer lasting chemical in the brain rather than infatuation from what I have read and seen, which confuses me even more.
I read that, but how much of that is the placebo effect? Peoples expectations causing it to be longerlasting?
Perhaps I just don't know what I don't feel and it is different. I get infatuated, and more so than most. Or at least it seems. I'm low on the empathy to see what others feel or don't.
