I have a confession to make. (name i used) doesn't exist.
The real me is much older than you and lives a much different daily life than the one you have come to know from Alexis. I work full time, will be going to school in another month for a medical career.
Alexis
was created several years ago as a persona to chat on Lit. There was
never any intention to turn it into anything else. Simple chat. Nothing
more.
The stories you've been told, about half of them are
truly mine. The other half...well..they're once again composites of
people I've known through my years. ASH does exist although now in a
different form than when I first frequented it in 2003. I was, in fact, a
resident there for many many years. I still lurk but rarely post.
Everyone
you've been "introduced" to over the last 18 months are not real. They
are composites of people and experiences that I've had in my 40 years.
My "Gifts"...well...the only gift I have is that of imagination.
The
medical knowledge, the medical problems...well...medcape and google can
teach quite a bit. I'm sure some things didn't add up, or make sense
but it passed muster didn't it?
The letters and
packages I sent you were done monthly after some thought of what I'd
send. The items in them truly were mine, as were the stories behind
them. The notecards, etc were truly done from the heart.
I've
been wanting to cut you loose for a long long time, but I just
couldn't. I cared too much for you. Believe it or not, it's true. I do
and did care for you. But, the reality is my own life is changing for
the better here real soon (I'm going back to college and training for a
better job). Your life will be changing for the better with this new
job.
While what I've done is morally wrong, however, it's not
illegal to impersonate someone who never existed. Current laws only
apply to impersonating an actual person.
The states where it is illegal, there has to be a financial profit from
the scam to be illegal. There was none here. I spent more money on you
sending you things than you did to me. There was no malicious intent or
intent to harm. The pictures I sent you were mine...the injury pictures
weren't but they weren't copyrighted or anything...they're ones that
are widely circulated in more than a few spots online. There was no
bullying, no threats. Nothing.Even the picture of me was used with
permission.
Fake accounts enjoy wide First Amendment protection,
Shear said, because the U.S. Supreme Court has long history of
protecting parodies through the years. In fact, lying in general
enjoys strong Constitutional protection. Last year, the Supreme Court
struck down the 2005 Stolen Valor Act, which made it illegal to sell or
wear fake military medals. The high court found the law violated the
First Amendment.
I do ask that you keep your promise to me and
delete my number from your phone book in your phone, delete my
voicemails, my pictures you saved. I do ask that you keep your promise
and not pursue this further. We'll agree to part ways, never speak of each other to anyone, have no traces of each other in our current lives.
All
myaccounts will be deleted immediately. In fact, I won't be using
my computer other than for school purposes. The only thing that will
remain of me is my phone number on your phone bill. And mom will be
happy that you're not texting so much anymore.
Wishing you nothing but the best my love.
