It appears that everybody on this forum has a difference in opinion when it comes to defining the difference between sociopaths and psychopaths. Maybe we should all come to an agreement on what the differences are before we start throwing the terms around again. I'm NOT claiming to have the right answer, and that is why I'm starting this thread. If you're going to add something of value then please add the source and don't just post 20 minute youtube videos and state "wach dis is veri ged much valyew" because nobody has time for that and if you really understood it then you should be able to explain it simply.
From what I've derived the main difference is this- psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made. Just read the extract below:
"Psychopaths are born with temperamental differences such as impulsivity, cortical underarousal, and fearlessness that lead them to risk-seeking behavior and an inability to internalize social norms. On the other hand, sociopaths have relatively normal temperaments; their personality disorder being more an effect of negative sociological factors like parental neglect, delinquent peers, poverty, and extremely low or extremely high intelligence."
