Hey,
Fun topic let's see what I can make up.
I'm going to an apartment to fetch freshly made pancake. I don't really usually like pancakes that much but because they are self-baked I can appreciate the effort that has been put into them. Before all this started we had a discussion about pancakes with a friend of mine on the phone and I insisted she would make some for me, as I am not good enough a cook to make proper pancakes. I made some in elementary school.
As I go around the block into a noisy low class area I feel somewhat nostalgic. But then I realize it's not really nostalgia since I go there every couple of times a month anyway. I realize that whoever I find there is probably too busy with whatever they are doing to start anything with me. I might be a bit sad to see that the place is still the same if not worse. I notice the blood and vomit but I don't really pay attention to it because the sun is shining and before going there I remember my dog raising his paw, then his thumb and saying "carpe diem"
I hear noisy fighting and music on high volume and go take a look. I see a couple of kids playing music on the street and throwing bottles around out of boredom. It wasn't a fight after all. I go there, smile, and say "you kids have fun!" They reply "we sure will!" Then they resume torturing the youngest kid for being young and then Raimo, the old drunk, comes to beat up on the kids with a metal pole and brings equality. But I don't notice any of this.
Then I hear some more noisy fighting but its actually just two drunken bums who've both had a bad day and both have a bad life. I separate them and it's easy because they're not paying attention to me and both actually kind of want to stop fighting. A lot of people have gathered around and they're trying to figure out what's going on and I get support from a couple of people trying to reason with them. So for the sake of the story they go on their way and I can continue with my tripping. I mean trip.
So I reach the building and push open the heavy door and realize they haven't oiled the hinges. Luckily, I have some oil with me just for these kinds of situations. So I oil the hinges and try the door again and realize that now the door is very light. I look at what I've accomplished in awe and if someone entered there at that moment I would proudly tell him about what I did. Too bad nobody entered in this story.
I continue on and reach an unconscious man. And the stairs and elevator. I feel bad and my sense of responsibility tells me to call an ambulance. I explain that there's an unconscious man lying there and they should do something about it. They ask me if he responds to whatever I do so I try to wake him and then he wakes up. As it turns out, he was drunk last night and hit his head while going up the stairs. He's saying that he's ok but I get him to a doctor anyway.
So I go back to the place and look at the mess in the eleveator and think "Life's messy. Clean it up!" So I go around looking for a mop and what do you know, I find one. I spend the next half an hour or so cleaning up the place and one of the people living at the place looks at me and smiles as she walks past me. Before I do any of this I call my friend and apologize for being late and say it's a long story.
Now that both the elevator and the stairs are in tip-top shape but I just can't decide which one to take. So I go "ini mini miny moe.." and in the end I choose the stairs. I start going up the stairs backwars while mopping up the whole stairway to the eigth floor. I ring the bell and my friend opens the door. I say "Hi sorry for being so late I did a lot of things while getting here, you wouldn't believe it! I got your stairway and elevator cleaned, for one!"
I explain everything to her and then I listen to her tell about her day. She shows off the freshly baked pancakes she has prepared and I'm really grateful for it even though she doesn't have my favourite strawberry jam. Because I want to "leave with" the pancakes I say "okay I have to go now, my heroics are still needed elsewhere!"

Sorry I just love happy stories.
