Smile.
Depends what you mean. someone else thought it just meant someone admired them from a distance or followed them like a fan, kind of romanticized? but real stalking can become a nightmare quickly. be careful what you ask for.
One of my friends was trying to help a woman who was threatened at home and at work by her exhusband who thought he had killed her "last time" and came back to finish the job. They had tapes of his phone threats but the police didn't want to get involved.
I doubt you would enjoy worrying about your children and driving from home to work knowing the guy was waiting to get you alone. The worst part is nobody believing that you are in danger because nothing has happened yet.
Hi Lisa I thought it meant a newbie. I looked it up online. It sounds like a cross between a newbie and a numbskull.
A little bit naive or innocent/inexperienced/unknowledgeable.
Your message made you sound almost dangerously naive to me. So maybe it is good you can learn from others with more experience, and prevent learning the "hard way" by getting hurt or damaged by dangerous people.
Some people think I'm crazy or stupid and annoying and don't trust me either, so that's just life. We don't know each other and may not be or come across the same way to each other. The system isn't perfect. We can only try.
I am trying to keep track of new and old members. Because some old members are known to create "puppets" and "act brand new" there is general suspicion of unrecognized accounts popping in with no introduction or background.
Maybe we need a section for "Introduce yourself" so this does not happen.
If you'd like your name added to the list as new members, let me know, on the ROLL CALL thread. Or you can post about yourself on Thrill Kill's Ratings Scale. I assume you are Female. If you want to list your age I can add that too
I am still fairly new, and still annoy people with my long empathetic holistic msgs. When everyone else is pointed.
You'll learn a lot by sticking around, and just don't take it personally how people respond. Just watch how you respond. Cuz that's the only thing you can control, not what other people see say or think. Lots of diversity here!
For those of you who want to harass others online- using Hushmail keeps you anonymous. Their servers aren't in the US, so even if one goes to the cops there's little to be done with foreign servers (emails are sent through several proxies so there's no way to trace to your location). Also, you can download The Onion Router, or TOR. This is free and simple and masks your location. Launching it only takes a minute. For added security, you can access Hushmail through TOR. And for texting, through TOR go to txtdrop and you can send free, anonymous text messages. You type anything you want for sender (what recipient sees) and can even type in the email address of the person you're harassing. Txtdrop doesn't tag texts, so people won't know they're sent from txtdrop. But you should def use a proxy for this kind of stuff. Or the free wifi at your local McDonalds.
See, I am not saying I have ever done this stuff, just presenting it as a way to anonymously harass someone, should you ever have the need.
