Your inner animal/personality test!

Our answers are similar, but why we picked them vary pretty strongly.

While basenjis are dogs, they don't really behave like them. They clean themselves like cats and don't bark, and how stubborn they are makes training them extra work. So worth the effort though.

Wait... gushing? I can see that for the waterfall, but with the answer key it sort of... changes things. o_o

I guess the only "gushing" I do right now, I do gush over my bf. but it's like how a little kid would gush inside over getting the best Christmas present in the world EVER. more annoying to him than sexy. don't know why he puts up with me, really. We've been together since 2001 but love life was derailed by work and paying to fix political problems in my neighborhood that went to federal levels when ACA hit. All my energy goes there. he doesn't believe the solutions will work so it's stuck. people want proof of better solutions, but if they don't believe enough to even try, how can we ever prove them so it's deadlocked till something gives. Just when everyone wanted me to push, to get the right ppl together, I got burned out, injured, and ran out of time/money/energy so I had to take a break.

It's not just pushing, but finding the right people. And again my bf doesn't have faith in the sides coming together, so part of the battle is just overcoming that.

Sorry to go off on that tangent. I would say my love life is like floating in still calm water, while political storms are raging like a tsunami that doesn't register when it's that far over your heads. I feel that I went through the storm already, both sides of it, while people are freaking out because they only see one side.

============

What amazes me is whatever you call your intuition or interpretative side. when you said psychological, that made sense to me. you could read msgs that weren't clear to others. your guesses what the test meant were so close, most people even me wouldn't try to guess cuz we wouldn't want to be wrong.

Sorry to apply biased terms, but I had found more women able to see beyond conflicting misperceptions and "read what  people really mean" while fewer men can do this. I thought it was male brains don't cross over both sides as easily as women's brains do. But emotionally, if people don't let go, or if men are very open and forgiving, then some women "act like men" ie inflexible and putting autonomy over relations, and some men "think like women" and put the relations or interests of the other person above their own need to defend their territory.

I recognize it is sexist to call/assume territorial marking and barking is "male" while inclusion of all people in relation to each is seen as "female" but for lack of better terms, I group it that way, where everyone has both "energies" or "spiritual sides" going on and the point is to balance in ourselves and with others.

I try to map out whose personalities are more male/female dominant so I can interact with people the way that works best for both of us and find a balance.

"I guess the only "gushing" I do right now, I do gush over my bf."

Right, I forgot gushing can mean being really into. I imagined it more like... the liquid definition. o_o

How embarrassing, I just used the word yesterday in chat.

"...we wouldn't want to be wrong."

Being wrong isn't the end of the world. I'm sure I'm wrong often enough. Truth's fairly arbitrary anyway.

I'd argue that's more of a symptom of culture than gender. My father was the one who stayed home my first years before going to school, while my mother resumed working. She for the longest time was the one who brought home more money, so a lot of the gender stereotypes I found confusing when I first heard them, since mainstream culture was the opposite approach.

If you get to know people, you'll see there's quite a lot of "feminine men" and "masculine women", to borrow those terms for lack of a better phrasing.

"I try to map out whose personalities are more male/female dominant so I can interact with people the way that works best for both of us and find a balance."

I personally try to not follow such a binary system of assumption. Save for some inescapable differences (like anatomy), I try to stay mostly gender neutral in discussion.

I got OTTER but don't understand why it says pro sports and I'm not?

The best psychology test I ever took went like this:'

A. Name your favorite color

List 3 adjectives that describe the feeling or personality of this color

a1.

a2.

a3.

B. Name your favorite animal

List 3 adjectives that describe its personality or traits

b1

b2

b3

(ie NOT details like claws, sharp teeth, stripes, spotted; and for describing color don't list words like grass, sky blue, yellow if the color is yellow etc)

C. Name 3 adjectives that describe a WATERFALL (not water/wet/blue etc)

c1

c2

c3

After 5-10 ppl answer, I will post the explanation, which is very simple anyway. See if you can guess that too.

I never think these are totally accurate. I get my results because I am outgoing and assertive. I never even pick MOST outgoing and assertive options. I don't know. Maybe I am like this.

onflicting forces shape the bear's nature. Since it is a classic omnivore, this burly beast exhibits two distinct sides to its personality. The carnivorous component makes the bear gruff and powerful, while its herbivorous side reveals a sensitive and intelligent individual.

Their gruff, outgoing personalities, burly physiques and strong characters make bears easy to identify. Their natural confidence and swaggering gaits puts others on notice that a bear is present. They require a great deal of personal space, and when they enter a room the tension level rises immediately. As youngsters, bears excel in sports, although their propensity for laziness relegates them to being an observer and fan in later life. Familiar with the seduction of the couch, their ability to sleep soundly is legendary throughout the animal world.

Although it is alert and intelligent, the bear mostly succeeds through the sheer force of its personality. Rarely challenged to reach its full intellectual potential, it dominates conversation with its intense single-mindedness. However, it is unwilling to argue from a position that it doesn't truly believe in, which makes it a lousy lawyer.

Bears routinely enjoy success in all aspects of their industrious lives and their large and capable frames elicit respect and admiration in the workplace. Their natural leadership talents make them suitable for jobs in management, academia and personnel training, but their physical prowess also makes them excellent physical education teachers, martial arts trainers or professional wrestlers. Most bears could also have a measure of success in politics if they were to put their mind to it.

Two elements define the bear's style of debate: Never avoid an argument and never back down. Bears will batter their opponents into submission just for the endorphin rush -- there's nothing a bear enjoys more than pitting every drop of its intellectual juices against the mind of a worthy opponent.
