i think sex needs to be in there somewhere...
In fact, it would be a boon to this planet if we stop reproducing like mice.
I know that a lot of men and women see that having children in some way ensures their legacy, but there are other ways to leave a mark. Art, science, being a productive person.
Quality over quantity.

If you ask me, the world is far from human overpopulation. These myths come from the belief that we'll always need oil to keep this up.
When we do start to overpopulate nature will take it's course, just as it's happening in Japan.
Japan is facing a huge reproduction crisis right now. There is a decline in reproduction happening over there. It sounds good, but something like that can lead to the extinction of a civilization. When a generation grows past their fertility without reproducing at an average ratio, it's not a joke. The Japanese government actually has a program, where they will pay people to have children.
What will happen is Japan will be short on youths, women will age and be too old to reproduce, for many generations Japan's population will start dropping like flies. There will always be Japanese people but economically they will take a massive hit.
Because we are not immortal as we are. Quantity IS quality. The more people, the more advanced we are, the more new things come into the world, more imaginaton, more technology, more of everything, and the standards of living gets easier, and more frequently dreams come true, when there are more people in the environment.
