Honor among thieves?

Last question from me to you:

So when conscience, guilt, and most of emotions and empathy are eliminated from the equation, do you have any internal or social compass that guides you to act in a civilized fashion?

And I'm not talking being a good person, being nice, being kind, bla bla bla... I'm talking acting like a civilized human being. Manners, decency, civility, respect, loyalty toward people/ideas/ideals... anything?

Yes? No? Sometimes? And whatever the case may be, why? What's the rationale or logic behind choosing to do so or not to do so?

Thanks!

the ideal would be for all things to be done by consent and in harmony. That is the natural state of peace.

What were in now is process of recovery and resolution of past disruption and disparity, to restore balance of freedom and peace, or equal justice.

It will take humanity everything weve got, inside and out, to achieve this state of spiritual maturity and social stability.

Not a question of this vs that, either/or, but using knowledge of all the above to figure out the learning curve and how to manage it.

I'm not loyal to anyone. I'd throw anyone under the bus to save my own ass.

I act in a civilized fashion for appearance's sake only. It helps me blend in to society better.

Your posts are becoming very tedious and annoying.

Why can't you answer a simple question or two without all this spiritual maturity bullshit.

I only show manners when blending in. I dont feel anything for anyone, myself included. As for loyalty, i would only be loyal to someone who has the same moral compass and personality, and that is still debatable. I dont have any decency to anyone, and see everyone as resources created for my use. I have a very convoluted perception of respect. I acknowledge that some people are more intelligent then me on certain topics, however i do not respect them.

Respect and loyalty.  I'm loyal to people who I like and a lot of that has to do with respect.  There's also a different kind of respect where I don't like the person but I respect them enough to not hate them.

Manners and civility are just something to do, but they can be fun.  Like getting dressed, you have to do it to go outside but you can choose what you want to wear.

I'm not sure what you mean by decency, exactly.  I think "decency" is a cheap word that people use to mean "the way I want things" when they don't feel like explaining the reasons behind their standards.
