 Unleash my true sociopathic nature.

If there were zombies near my house, I would use furniture and whatever else I can to block all possible entry points. Then, being as resourceful as I am, I would find whatever I can use in the house to set up traps near the entry points in case a zombie breaks in. Fortunately, I already own a gun, several knives and a crowbar that I can use as weapons. I'd only use the gun as a last resort though so as not to attract too much attention.

If the area is, or becomes, fairly free of zombies, I would pack a bag that I can carry on my back full of essential items and take an extra backpack with me, so that when I break into the local store, I can take some nonperishable food supplies with me as well. My daughter would carry one of the backbacks and we would both carry a weapon each.

Once we have our supplies, I'd look for a safe shelter that is strong and secure enough to keep zombies out. I'd use whatever I can use in the shelter to my advantage. Then wait it out until it's safe to get more supplies.

 It would be foolish not to take her when she can help carry extra supplies and fend off zombies as well.

 Plus it's like a 3-week ration of food that carries itself
