Senior Members - A Discussion

Hello everyone,

Do you agree with the idea of giving long time members of this community the title of "Senior Member", and the ability to.. not moderate or impose their will on others, but organize new threads into relavant sections so as to improve on ease of finding information that new traffic might be looking for.

Thoughts?

I'm completely against this idea. I dislike the idea of any divisions between posters, it's pointless hierarchical shit. It's a jungle, who gives a damn about who's a senior and who's not.

Maybe instead of answering individuals you should answer with specific criteria of what constitutes a senior member, or at least a list of names that qualify and how will you differentiate puppet accounts?

Add a tab at the top of the page. This tab will open the organized section. What's posted in the sections also gets listed in the unorganized page, the one we have now, the "see everything" section.

I agree with new tabs for different sections.

I'm open to suggest on how a Senior Member quailfies, but I'd say that they require

A. To have at least 1000 posts
B. Be a member for at least 2 months.
C. Get a recommendation from at least 1 other Senior member.
D. Pay a yearly $50 membership fee
E. There can be no more than 15 Senior Members. - New Applications will be put on a waiting list.

Senior Members get no special powers. They would only get the ability to Categorize topics. Since they are paying a membership fee as well, I'd like to introduce the idea of creating a system which gives them democratic control over improvements to the community.

I know this is the first time I'm introducing the fee, but if we assume my company pays $600 per year right now in Hosting, we would need 12 Senior Members to pay this.

Please don't assume this is something I will do. I am only introducing the idea. My company cannot afford $50 per month right now. I haven't smoked weed in like a month, and it's not by choice.

Love,

Luna
