whaaaa???
elaborate please, i do not understand at all what happened in this situation! :) hahaha!
No it's guided by the superego, the ego is the mediator between our id and superego.
and no i wouldn't say it has anything to do with "security" but more the level of emphasis one places on social convention/propriety. If one has a stronger Superego they will tend to be more apt to suspend their own desires for what is socially "right" where as one driven by the Id would give more heed to their base desires.
It's all sheep vs wolf - empath vs sociopath... superego vs Id...
absolutely, women have long derived power from apparent submission, as it is a desired quality for men. Submission can be a powerful tool of manipulation. Something women tend to excel at because it's more socially demanded. Men (to include myself) have a difficult time submitting due to social norms, higher levels of testosterone, etc... it's actually something I consider a weakness of mine... there are times when it would greatly serve me to be more submissive... but my ego gets in the way of it and I miss potential opportunities because of it.
It was a situation in the classroom. The one guy was bullying the other one.
I started a verbal fight with the first guy: and in verbal fights with me the opponent loses even more often than in physical fights.
That was the fun. And some teachers thought I'm really helpfull.
People that know of my manipulative ways have asked me why I'm not just real with people. In my own mind, I am. I have simply over time crafted a personality that reacts almost subconsciously to certain situations, but it has been purposefully crafted that way. Does that make me artificial or fake? I don't know, that's debatable... what is "real" anyway?
As to topping from the bottom, there are many layers to the game, and better players, play better... mastery at its highest level is merely taking the best actions subconsciously.
There is no right or wrong answer... everything is subjective... everything is relative...
No, I know the difference between the id, the ego, and the superego, I used "ego" in layman's terms.
You really think that it's that simple? Hmmm... maybe you're right...
I'm just thinking that if one is so confident and thinks that s/he is absolutely amazing and a terrifically solid human being, then s/he would have nothing to prove to him/herself or anyone else, right? Thus one's desire/need to "do good" would diminish, no?
I read an article on Psychology Today recently that talked about good/moral people being more likely to cheat and break the rules, b/c they felt justified by their morality and goodness to make certain small exceptions. So that would support the above statement, I suppose...
Damn we're a fucked up specie...
But then again, there are really altruistic individuals who do not seek praise or recognition for their own positive deeds and goodness, is it possible that it is only for their internal peace? If they are not fucking up on daily basis, wouldn't they already be in peace? Would they need to go through additional "trouble" of being good?
No one exists in a vacuum and our perceptions of being superior are usually based on our interpretations of past reviews by others. More over we are not the same person from one moment to the next, we evolve and change constantly. I'm sure there are times when we see ourselves in the most superior light, and don't feel the urge to do anything to "prove" that... but we feel that way because at one point we validated that concept in our minds by some action we took that made us perceive that state of self.
