While Sociopaths lack some emotions, they/we do not lack all of them. The emotional capacity to feel is simply limited. For example: I don't feel happiness or sadness very often, but I can feel it. When I do, it's short-lived and shallow. It doesn't last long because I can't feel it on a deep level like most other people can. Most of the time I'm just feeling either boredom or neutral.

Enjoyment, for me, is based on one of two things: benefit or pleasurable emotion. Though, I would describe it as a shallow emotion because it doesn't last long either. For example: When I say I enjoy living it's because being alive has it's benefits. When I say I enjoy music, it's because the sound is pleasurable to me, but unlike a lot of people, I can't tolerate music for more than an hour or so, because after while it just becomes irritating noise.

 Thrill is absolutely right, I know that for me that has been one of the biggest remaining questions while defining my personality (without letting that definition rule me - which can be difficult at time as it's hard not to rationalize a behavior my thinking, "It's just who I am.") characteristics. I still experience a range of emotion, maybe not to the extent some do, but my emotional responses typically fade as fast as they began and I return to an indifferent state of being.

It's almost like I quote I know by someone I can't remember.

"The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. The opposite of beauty is not ugliness, it is indifference, etc."

 Enjoyment is joy, and joy is happiness. Everyone can feel happy, even those bad guys.

Enjoyment does not necessarily equal happiness. I don't feel happy when I enjoy something. It just gives me a sense of pleasure.

Mind you, I'm not saying happiness isn't pleasurable, but pleasure and happiness are two separate emotions. For me, pleasure equals anything that kills my boredom.

 There are many shades of every emotion including happiness. When experiencing pleasure, there is a degree of happiness that is in part sustaining the experience. If the beholder becomes upset, even during a euphoric experience, then it will be impossible to take pleasure in what we "enjoy". Joy and happiness are unified. If you're not happy, the sex is no good. And you know it. If the sex was okay, one would be a bit amused, and if it was off the chain, then I'd argue the beholder of emotion would be in a pretty good mood until further notice. Enjoyment is the state of joy, there is no such thing as joy without a degree of happiness, the more of one includes more of the other.

 The only emotions I have which might be the same as found in "normal" people (maybe even stronger) are disgust and anger. In some weird way I really enjoy feeling those things.

The synonyms of enjoyment are pleasure, entertainment, amusement, diversion, recreation, relaxation.

Enjoyment and happiness are not synonymous.

I enjoy horror movies. Do you think I'm feeling happy when I watch a horror movie? No, but I still enjoy them because they're entertaining.

I enjoy this forum. Do you think I'm happy when I'm here? No, but I still enjoy it because it's amusing and I like socializing.

I enjoy fantasizing about murder. Do you think that makes me happy? No, but I still enjoy it because it gives me pleasure.

So, you see, you can still enjoy things without feeling happiness.
