He was diagnosed as a sociopath or psychopath?

I actually bought a book on Richard 'the Iceman' Kuklinski about 2 years ago. I still haven't read it yet.

sociopaths are opportunistic creatures, they are selfish and individualistic... why wouldnt they care for the things that enhance their life? to do otherwise would be counterproductive.

 Um, I think he was a psychopath. He was diagnosed with ASPD.

There is a difference between deeply caring for something because you feel a connection with it and caring for something for selfish reasons.

Sociopaths care for selfish reasons. What they care for is nothing more than a useful possession to them. Once that possession loses it's value (usefulness), the 'caring' stops because there never was any emotional connection to begin with.

It's called a developmental delay for a reason.

Once you truly understand the underlying cause, you're free of what is delaying you.

 I experience love as obsession which leads me to conquer, destroy, and repeat.

A psychologist, who also works in neuroscience, once suggested to me that I may be emotionally stunted due to my upbringing. My mother also lacks the full range of emotion, so there's likely a genetic component as well.
