I'm willing to negotiate, on the condition you let me handle the company's income, otherwise, I'll simply take what I want anyway.
The clients we are targeting are small to medium sized business clients. We act as their web manager meaning we plan the website, develop it, SEO, host, and we keep it running and stuff. Each project is usually at least $1000 USD and then a small monthy fee for updates, hosting, and support. So that means you would get $200 for a client.
The process wouldn't need to be that difficult too. You would need to find someone you either you know or you think might be interested in our services. We look over what they currently have, and consider their company goals. Then we write up a document telling them what we can do, and how much it will cost. If they approve of the contract, they will pay us 60% up front, and from that, you will get your 20%.
The job of a sales rep isn't to sell his or her product. Rather, it's to sell yourself, and make them want to work with you, and then offer up your product, and let it sell itself. This is the power of the proposal. It speaks in logic. They choose to invest and work with us, or not to. If they think the price and our portfolio is fine, it comes down to if they decide to trust you or not.
So we wouldn't make 20% of the profit you make on the monthly fee, or do you just charge them the minimum hosting costs with no aim for profit in it?
Wait, 20% of 60% (12%), or a third of said 60% (leaving you with 40%)?
Have you ever heard of eLance?
"If they think the price and our portfolio is fine, it comes down to if they decide to trust you or not."
...and when they do, and things go awry, they'll come to us if coming to you doesn't work (or if that occurs to them first). "That's with her, I just sold the name" seems like it could burn some bridges.
Nothing personal, I'm untrusting by nature of work that isn't my own until it goes above and beyond to show otherwise, and people know that's the standard I keep. It's why I can be trusted.
you would get your 20% of the 100% out of 60%.
about the monthly fee, we basicly change cost for this. the idea is this.. we don't want to make a beautiful, sophisticated program, and then hand it over to some inexperienced person who has no idea how to make it a success. we want our portfolio to be full of success, so we personally manage each of the websites we develop. the monthly fee allows us to do that.
