by CalebYou have tricked me Thrill! Darn, I cannot outsmart you, devilish fiend!
Finally, the truth comes out...
I rolled six times in a car before ending up in a gully in the woods. A friend of mine was drinking and driving and I asked her to slow down before she veered off the side, overcorrected, and flipped us. I was in the backseat. I had just put my seatbelt on after telling my friend to put hers on also. I feel karma was at play because the first person who helped us, after we knocked on his door for help, was a judge magistrate. He called the cops and my friend went to jail. I remember rolling over like a washing machine thinking to myself, "this is it." it was strangely calm when we were flipping. If I would have been sitting in the seat next to me, I would be dead. The roof was almost touching the seat on that side.
I view it differently than "fate" or "predestination". It's more like the passion that drives a person in my opinion.
The idea of fate and predestination bother me because in religious texts we're given free will. What is the point of free will if everything is already plotted and mapped ahead of us?
