This strikes me as jumping to conclusions without enough evidence.
The assumptions being made out in the open might inspire others to mention any connections they've noticed themselves you may have overlooked, or even simply reveal further search criteria people could use to further your view's legitimacy. Who knows, the collaboration might reveal if there really is a ruse or not. As is, it looks like a stretch to try to find a connection from that word alone.
