It's WAY too complicated for a guy to get it... XD
by TurncoatI just assume it's from how I type or something. The sarcasm and passive aggression might make me seem less masculine maybe? I think I behave in a gender neutral fashion, but it's not like I've interacted with myself.
The long hair and full lips probably make me appear more feminine (with that filter anyway) but I still got the assumption even when I had the blue toy face as my avatar.
I personally think that your username and picture do make you appear more feminine, even though Turncoat is really a neutral name. There's a distinct feminine touch to your writing style as well. I can't explain what it is though.
I would actually be very interested to hear your voice. It may change my perception of you.
With that said... I've been tempted to create a thread on this forum where people could do a voice recording (through http://vocaroo.com/ or http://audioboo.fm/) and post a link to it, but with the hostility that some people seem to feel towards me here, I doubt it would generate much interest. Though, I personally still think it could be fun.
I posted a voice recording thread on Psychforums awhile back, when I was a member there, and quite a few people participated in that.
At least I don't feel alone, now. We share much the same fates. Your avatar, though, has always looked like Courtney Love to me. Maybe a little one of the guys in One Direction. Do you think some of this reaction is attributable to having next to no interest in sex, at least in discussion? I've always been that way. Guys I'd hang out with would talk about fucking or other similar bullshit, and it never was interesting to me. Most just sound like primates that learned to speak. I could never fathom the fervent hunting for pussy a lot of guys I know thought was so important. And this isn't a self-esteem or sexuality issue. It's I probably don't get carried away hormonally. I can switch that shit on or off. A lot of the pursuit of sex results in a dreadfully pitiful pay off, most of the time. Just a waste of time on just about any given day.
...I do wonder if a majority of the psychological tests I've gone through here and there were not very indicative for sociopathy or psychopathy because I have enough impulse control. I am not a thrill-seeker, or even violent, to that extent. However, in most every other way, I identify with sociopathy.
Edvard: "Maybe it has something to do with your long, well structured sentences. I think guys who can express themselves well appear more feminine to some for some reason :D"
I just type the same way that I talk. o_o
Thrill Kill: "I would actually be very interested to hear your voice. It may change my perception of you."
Yes, because my voice sounding deeper changes what I've said on these forums.
Could still be fun.
Buttered Toast: "Your avatar, though, has always looked like Courtney Love to me."
That B&W filter really allows me to hide in plain sight. I see where you're coming from, but only for the avatar, not my face.
Buttered Toast: "Do you think some of this reaction is attributable to having next to no interest in sex, at least in discussion?"
I'm pretty open about sex actually. I don't have much to hide related to it.
Buttered Toast: "Guys I'd hang out with would talk about fucking or other similar bullshit, and it never was interesting to me. Most just sound like primates that learned to speak."
Sounds like you need to talk with smarter or kinkier people. I'm bored out of my skull of typical drivel, but kinky discussion is a completely different creature. There's more depth and description to it, instead of trying to glorify boring ol' vanilla.

Of course hearing your voice won't change anything you've said on the forums already, but it may give me a new perspective on your future posts if your actual voice is in my head each time I read a new post of yours.
