Well, anastacia, I've heard both sides can be seen as true. I watched this documentary on Youtube awhile back on this young girl that was molested at a very, very early age by her pedophile father.
She turned into a psychopath, pretty much. She was eventually adopted at around the age of 5 or 6 by some church-going family, I believe the father was a priest at the local church. They couldn't help her, she was hurting animals, and her adopted brother, trying to hurt and remove his genitals. They ended up seeking help from a psychiatrist or ologist and she was able to 'fix her' through a variety of different experiments. If you'd like I can post the video on here to watch if that strikes your interest, it's a lot more informing than this brief summary is.
I think it can go both ways. I think that abuse, sexually or many other kinds can be a role in developing psychopathy/sociopathy at a young age, and I also believe that some may be born with it.
Neuroscientists in the past have found that the anterior rostral prefrontal cortex and temporal poles in a person with this issue has less gray matter and can be used to blame the cause of this disorder.
Basically, it goes both ways, but what I'm trying to understand is by asking the question of this is if they were born with it or molded into it by some situation in their past. Great question.
