I don't. I am simply weighing the cost/benefit of doing something versus doing nothing and how that will reflect on me personally, if there are others judging my actions.
by Thrill KillNo, I don't believe they would. Not if they knew other people were watching their actions.
It's more beneficial to 'look' like the good guy, even if you're not.

What the fuck?
Everywhere in the civilized world, pushing the fat dude wouldn't earn you an award, would earn you a trial for murder. Wow.
I am pretty sure most people would not intervene anyway. Not only because that would make them direct murderers risking jail, but also because it would make their conscience guiltier than just witnessing an accident.
Having to choose, though, I'd take Thrill Kill's stance. Despite the appearance, it is only practical for the species. More genetic material to add to the gene pool from five people than one. Besides, I'm not sure I want the fat dude breeding to continue to support the obesity problem in America.
(And I would care about strangers as much as Thrill Kill said she does. I wouldn't hesitate in the situation.)

I wouldn't lose any sleep at all over killing a fat dude, or any dude for that matter.
Maybe most people wouldn't intervene because of their conscience, but if the decision was primarily in their hands and they had an opportunity to save 5 lives, but did nothing at all, aren't they just as guilty as the person who kills the fat man?
