Wouldn't it be delicious if smkovalinsky was M.E. Thomas and trying to generate her own bad press? Make up a persona to be martyr to another of her personas. Win-win, right? I've suggested this tactic a couple times. However, I think no one is either capable or willing to do something so contrived for a simple little fun. Why would anyone bother?

If it's true, then she's only here looking for attention. Not only for herself, but her book. Even negative attention might make people interested enough to read it.
I personally haven't read the book as yet and I doubt I will. I don't have the attention span to read books these days.
Precisely...just a little disguised reverse-psychology. Have to read up and research to provide counterweight to what looks like wanton insult and conflict. In argument and discussion, the fallout may be further reading and discussion than its simple face-value provides. Poke the hive and watch the bees buzz.

...It's been noted before that M.E.'s desire to remain anonymous was very thin. As we can see, if any of these revelations are true, it doesn't take much effort. However, I've never cared enough. It just seemed like a somewhat cheap excuse to generate interest or so-called controversy or mystery. I can understand in a practical sense to keep from exposing one's identity when making a book like she did, but can it really be that dangerous or damaging once revealed?
So she gets exposed. Then what? Well, in that regard people may flock to her book and read it, thus self-generating market value. Even if she is able to deflect the concern, she ends up with more attention, while still keeping her job. I really see nothing of serious consequence to M.E., but who knows?
