As emotions are to BIOS, personality is to operating system?
First off who is "they" and if you site wikipedia you're an idiot... ...Emotion started at the reptilian brain... before we evolved to have a cerebral cortex (which only mammals have) and no... you are mistaken, emotional reactivity stems from the amygdala, the cerebral cortex is the part of the brain that REGULATES emotion, it is the logic center where we rationalize and make sense of our emotions. It is the critical thinking part of the brain... So sir, before you correct someone, know your shit...

Common knowledge shared between neurologist in their feild. And I don't rely on Wikipedia, though I can see it can be used to take you to school. Also, I say, "they say" cause they still don't understand much about the brain.
...Emotion started at the reptilian brain...
I can't find a source to back this claim.

The amygdala is part of the Limbic layer, not the Triune.
But yeah, I couldn't find any sources that suggest the R-complex is where emotions originated from. Because the Triune is by nature compulsive, it governs agression along with other basic instincts that reletively have to do with emotionless attributes, such as breathing and the functionality of vital organs.
Because saying that obviously makes it so... You're on idiot spatial, read some actual scholarly material about neuroscience and then we'll talk.
