Were you actually planning to hurt him?
He told me he could handle anything...
I got a little too excited when he began to struggle and tried to fight me off him, so I just kept going. At first, it was just funny to me when he finally got loose and started rushing to put his clothes on. I thought he was being such a baby about it. Figured he would get over it. I wasn't thinking in terms of: This guy could call the cops on me and make it out like I tried to kill him. My brain is too broken to think like that until long after It's already over.l
She couldn't have wrapped it around his neck if it was an unexpected maneuver. She would have had to quickly retrieve it from under the pillow, and press it down across his neck while she straddled him, exerting her weight forward, and possibly, suddenly pinning his chest down with her knee....

You state that you struggled with him. There is something about a combative dynamic, in particular, that really causes the visceral to surface. It can trigger a vicious, feral reaction. And for those of us lacking in empathy, it can be sometimes be difficult to gauge when too much is really too much.
