Intersting, but I'm guessing mine might still be seen as disordered?
Without pain, sex is fairly robotic for me. If I go a long stretch of time without any injuries from another, I have this feeling that something's missing. It however is fairly easy to remedy this problem, so where does that place me?
Would addiction fall under the auspice of disorder? Is compulsion ever strong enough to not be a thing capable of decision? How strong before someone is deemed not culpable for an action. Crimes of passion, insanity defense, etc., are sometimes workable in absolving the offender's responsibilty in proportion to events.
i guess I am wondering how the article may apply itself to matters of legal nature.
The last sentence of the article perplexes me, because it appears to imply that if one indulges a paraphilia in "real life", as opposed to merely in fantasy, it falls into the "disordered" category. And while I can understand a distinction being made if non-consenting individuals or children are involved, that statement appears to contradict the rest of the article, and leaves me confused as to whether or not practicing sadomasochists would be considered disordered.
I mean, I dont actually care one way or the other, but I am curious. It almost seems like they want to leave themselves a generous loophole for when it might suit a particular case or agenda...
